The Christian sensitive to his sin acknowledges that a mass of infidelity still remains in our renewed nature. As the Puritan John Ball confesses in his excellent work on faith, O Lord, I am grossly ignorant of your ways, doubtful of your truth, distrustful of your power and goodness, disobedient to your commandments.
